"Pop Art looks out into the world. It doesn't look like a painting of something, it looks like the thing itself."
- Roy Lichtenstein
In the Reflections series, Roy Lichtenstein examined visual perception through the depiction of light, reflective surfaces and visual distortion, moving beyond comic book imagery while retaining his distinctive Pop Art language. Everyday materials such as glass and metal are rendered using bold, flat colour, strong outlines and Ben-Day dots, with fragmented reflections creating optical tension and layered complexity. As a key body of late work, the series highlights Lichtenstein’s technical range and is widely regarded as an important contribution to his later career and the broader evolution of Pop Art.
